2008 Beijing Olympics

Earlier, Sushil Kumar lost to Ukranian Andriy Stadnik and left the hopes hinging on the repechage. Then he won three consecutive matches to win bronze medal for India. He first defeated American Doug Schwab, then Belarussian Albert Batyrov and finally Leonid Spiridonov of Kazakhstan to win bronze medal.
This unknown wrestler made us proud by his great come back to win the bronze medal. This is the second time India is winning medal in wrestling. In 1952 Helsinki Games, Indian Wrestler Kashabha Jadhav won bronze medal in wrestling. This is also the first time since 1952, India is winning more than one medal in an Olympics.

2010 World Wrestling Championships, Moscow

Sushil Kumar created history by becoming the first Indian wrestler to win a gold medal at the World Championships.Sushil was only the second Indian to win an Olympic medal when he grabbed a bronze at Beijing Games in 2008.The Haryana grappler overcame Russia's Gogaev Alan 3-1 in the final to clinch the gold.
He had defeated Azerbaijan's Hasanov Jabrayil in the semifinal of the free style 66kg category event.After getting a bye in the first round, he beat Akritidis of Greece, Martin Sebastian of Germany and Buyan Jav of Mongolia en route to the final.All other Indian contenders had crashed out before the finals in the championship.

2010 Commonwealth Games, Delhi

Sushil Kumar won gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in Delhi on 10 October 2010. He beat Heinrich Barnes of South Africa 7-0 in the finals in the 66 kg freestyle wrestling category. The South African wrestler could not endure more than three and half minutes in front of Sushil. In fact the bout had to be stopped by the referee in the second round.
Earlier, in the semifinals, Sushil defeated Famara Jarjou of the Gambia 3-0 in a record 9 seconds.[18] In the quarterfinals Sushil Kumar defeated Muhammad Salman of Pakistan 10-0 in 46 seconds.

2012 London Olympics

India's Sushil Kumar won India its sixth and final medal of the 2012 London Olympics after settling for silver in the final of the Men's 66kg Freestyle Wrestling event on Sunday. But Sushil has created history by becoming the first Indian to win two individual Olympic medals.
Sushil, who reached the final after defeating Akzhurek Tanatarov of Kazakhstan in the semi-finals, was beaten by Japan's Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu 3-1 in a short and swift final bout at the ExCel Arena.
